Safeguarding

Child safeguarding & protection

Children’s dignity comes first. Programme partners are expected to protect children from harm, exploitation and humiliating content.

Core principles

  • Dignity of every child
  • No exploitation for publicity or fundraising
  • No humiliating, degrading or sensational imagery
  • Appropriate photography and video practices
  • Consent requirements for images and stories
  • Clear staff and visitor conduct expectations
  • Child protection reporting pathways
  • Privacy of personal data
  • Responsible social-media use

Photography & video

Images and videos should show care, safety and respect. Do not publish identifying details of children without appropriate approvals. Avoid content that could stigmatise or endanger a child.
